In this two-day workshop, you will explore how you can embed Active Learning and Assessment for Learning into your classroom practice. We will usually ask you to work both in your own specialist area (or group of subjects) and with teachers from other subjects or disciplines.
We offer an early bird registration discount of 10% for this course.
The course fee is $335.61 if booked before the 3rd of October 2018. Bookings received after this date will be charged at the full price of $372.90.

When students are actively engaged in their own learning process, they are better able to develop the higher order thinking skills which are vital for success. An active learning approach can take place in both formal and informal classroom settings, and complements a range of teaching styles.
Assessment for Learning (AfL) is an approach effective teachers use to understand the needs of the students in their class. They use a wide range of formal and informal assessment strategies to determine where students are in their learning and what to do next. AfL strategies also help students to take greater responsibility for their own learning.
During this workshop we will explore the following topics:
This training will be delivered in English so participants are required to have sufficient competence in English to participate in the training. All candidates should have English language competence comparable to Level B2 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). We recommend a minimum requirement of 5.5 on the International English Language Testing System. Further information may be obtained through the Council of Europe website.
This workshop compliments the PDQ Certificate in Teaching and Learning (6208).
